And here's the second slice of good musical news for 2010:

KEITH HILLS & RICHARD PLANK

Now, you might well have seen these two guitarists over the

years, playing & singing around a large number of Cornish venues. Indeed, they've toured around the rest of the UK,

large parts of Europe and up & down the Appalachians in

the USA during their careers. But the last time they did it

together was in 1998 - France, to be exact. Although little

is now known of the actual details of that trip.

And they might have aged a bit since the photo was taken.

Musical survivors of the original British Folk-Blues Revival,

renowned guitarist & singer/songwriter Keith Hills

and American Folk musician & fingerpicker Richard Plank

have decided that it is time to combine their talents once again.

So, look out for them in 2010, wherever good, live,

acoustic music is played.

And, if you run a venue, contact us here, to find out more about their availablility and to put a date or two in your programme diary

Acousticart Winter 2009/2010 Endorsements

Nothing but the best is recommended here

JACK LAWRENCE

Fine musician and firm friend of all of us down here

in the far South West, we were very pleased to see

Jack performing last November in St.Ives.

With a little bit of luck, we might also see him in 2010

back in the UK. Both in May and September.

So, fingers crossed.

Jack Lawrence is heralded as one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the USA. Referred to as an "acoustic powerhouse," his musicianship on the flat top guitar has mesmerized audiences for decades. Jack's style is eclectic, encompassing Americana, blues, bluegrass and "sophisticated folk." Jack is highly regarded in his most prominent role as partner to Doc Watson. The two musicians have traveled the country as a duo for the last two decades, delighting audiences from coast to coast. Jack also performs as a solo guitarist/vocalist in venues nationally and internationally.

Local Session Update:

This one we know is still operating

The Kings Arms

Paul, nr Penzance, Cornwall

every Tuesday.  9pm.

Although we don't think there's much Bluegrass,

Old Time or Folk Blues going on there now.

Still, it's a nice pub.

The photo is only a guide.

So don't take it literally...

And don't forget, buy those CDs from the store - they're hot & they're here.
